Dear Music Booster Members:

It is hard to believe that we are fast approaching the end of the school year. Please mark your calendar for the Spring Bands Concert, the Music Awards Celebration (grades 8-12), and the Music Department Revue.

Mr. Schatt is rolling out a new format for the IHS Wind Ensemble Spring Concert which will be a combined concert with the IMS Wind Ensemble. At the conclusion of the bands' concert, there will be light refreshments and music provided by the IHS Jazz Ensemble in the High School Cafeteria.

For those of you new to the event, there will be a Music Awards Celebration for all IHS Music Department students, grades 8-12, held in the IHS auditorium. We celebrate the year's accomplishments of all music students with awards and, at the conclusion, an ice cream social in the IHS cafeteria.

Finally, the biennial tradition of the Music Department Revue continues! This is a do-not-miss event. The Music Department students look forward to this show every two years where they get showcase their many talents on the High School stage. It is Mike Douglas meets the Smothers Brothers. (Am I dating myself?) In addition, the Marching Band and Vocal Ensemble will perform their Disney shows for us.

I look forward to seeing all of you at these three culminating events as the year comes to a close. Let's celebrate our students and the fabulous year that they have had! (Thank you, Mr. Schatt and Miss Hoffert.)

Enrichment is part of the Music Booster's Mission

The ongoing mission of the music boosters is to foster and encourage student development in the musical arts. Throughout the year the music boosters raise money to provide funds used to purchase instruments, equipment and uniforms. Booster volunteers provide hospitality for both the IHS and visiting bands at football halftime, and also assist with set design/construction and costume design/creation for the madrigal and drama productions. The Music Boosters also offer a musical enrichment grant for eligible students.
